The history of Nik company is tied to the birth of refrigeration industry in Iran. The first generation of Niknam family started working as a member of Persepolis company. This company, which was established in 1960 by using the technical knowledge of Linde, Germany, was active at the same time as companies such as Zagros, which were inspired by Westinghouse refrigerators.

The products produced in Persepolis company were initially limited to showcase refrigerators, but with the expansion of the company's activities, refrigerators used in food industry business units such as refrigerators for storing meat, sweets and ice cream were also added to them. Until gradually around 1342 Iran's first industrial cold storage named Tehran's Big Cold Storage was built by Persepolis Company.

In 1346, due to the change in Persepolis company's activities, this first generation of the Niknam family continued its activity independently under the name of Pars Technik, which was associated with the mass production of small commercial cold stores. In 1348, Ali Niknam (the second generation of the Nik family) continued his activity under the title of after-sales service of that company, following the death of his father due to familiarity with Persepolis products. In addition to this service, he also produced commercial refrigerators and open refrigerators for meat, poultry and fish stores.

In 1352, a workshop named "Ali Nik Nam Office" was formed and with the expansion of its work, the Nik Nam brothers joined together as business partners.

In 1355, with the construction of large industrial ice makers, the work of these partners expanded in such a way that important services were provided to two Karun agriculture and industry companies and Malawi Road Construction Company (for the Tehran-Qom highway camping project). Also, cooperation with companies related to the fishing industry and food industry to build fixed and mobile cold storages of different dimensions was going on.

In 1357, the construction of the factory started in Beheshti Industrial Town, which was opened in 1358. In 1369, after obtaining a work permit for cold storage production, extensive research was done to produce an ice cream machine, which began its mass production in 1363.

The interesting thing to note in these years was the production of large ice makers for the front lines of the war with the start of the Iran-Iraq war, which reached a point by 1362 where all the war lines from north to south were using the ice makers of Nik company.

Nik Refrigeration and Heating Company was officially registered in 1364, which coincided with the opening of the second Nik factory. In these years, for the first time in Iran, Nik company started to build large ammonia cold storages, and in 1367, with the round-the-clock efforts of that company, the country became self-sufficient in importing all the equipment needed in this industry. Also, in line with that, he succeeded in obtaining the exclusive representation of Japan's Mycom company for refrigeration compressors.

In these years, with the increasing expansion of activities, in order to increase the industrial space, the factory was moved to a bigger place. The production of equipment related to freon cold storages also started with the arrival of 1370 and the opening of the Nik 2 factory.

In 1375, with the expansion of activities in the field of oil, gas and petrochemicals, the production of oil coolers for gas pressure booster stations in the country's national gas transmission line was similar to the Swiss model.

After years of activity in the field of cooling and heating industry, Nik company started to design and produce air conditioning equipment in 2008, and in the same year, it introduced its first products in this field to the market, and during these years, to design and produce All kinds of air washers, ceiling and floor fan coils, all kinds of cold water chillers and air conditioners.

Currently, the third generation of the Niknam family in the Nik Refrigeration and Heating Company is trying to promote this industry and the country's self-sufficiency from foreign products.
